
Cuadernos Iberoamericanos (Iberoamerican Papers) is indexed by the Russian Scientific Citation Index (RSCI) and by the Russian Higher Attestation Commission (VAK) in History (5.6.2, 5.6.7), Filology (5.9.2, 5.9.4, 5.9.6), History of art and culture (5.10.1, 5.10.3).
The journal is registered in Latindex — Catálogo 2.0, which is a bibliographical information system that includes scholarly journals that study Iberoamérica.
In 2023 Iberoamerican Papers changed its strategy in order to focus on history, ethnology, ethnography, history of international relations and foreign policy, culture, art, literary and linguistic studies. In accordance with the new strategy of the journal, we have renewed the Editorial Board and the International Scientific and Expert Council by inviting academic researchers who study particular topics in the spheres mentioned above.
The academic journal Cuadernos Iberoamericanos is published by Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO-University), a leading center for promoting complex research on countries and regions in close connection with their history, their clout in international relations, their languages and culture. Nearly 1000 University students learn Spanish and Portuguese, mastering these languages in a broad context of interdisciplinary studies.
Cuadernos Iberoamericanos presents research articles, analytical essays, book reviews on the academic works, all related to the Ibero-American region within the framework of this new configuration of the journal (the topics are indicated below).
You are welcome to publish articles that correspond to the following groups of Human Sciences (according to the classification of the Russian Higher Attestation Commission):

5.10.3. Arts (theatre, music, film, television, visual arts, architecture, choreography, technical aesthetics, and design)
All articles are subject to a “blind” peer review. They can be submitted in Russian, Spanish, Portuguese or English. The length of the articles (without metadata) is to be 30,000 to 60,000 printed characters.

In 2025, four issues of the journal are expected to be published on the following topics:
First Issue — «Humans. Language. Society»,
Second Issue — «Space and Material World»,
Third Issue — «Spiritual Values. Everyday Life»,
Fourth Issue — «Experience of the Past and Present. History. Culture. Art».
The journal’s goal is to develop interdisciplinary research in the field of history, ethnology, art history, literary studies, linguistics and other disciplines to show the diversity and identity of the Ibero-American worldview.
The journal’s objectives are:
- To provide researchers with an open platform for publishing the results of different scientific research on the history, ethnology and ethnography, culture, literature, art, languages of the countries of the Ibero-American world;
- To disseminate the publications of both renowned researchers and junior experts (articles, monographs) in the above-mentioned areas in the form of critical reviews;
- To invite both Russian experts and Ibero-Americanists from abroad to collaborate in order to share academic dialogue and intellectual debate on the study and interpretation of different phenomena of history, culture and the arts, literary and linguistic trends in the Ibero-American world.

We are pleased to inform you that by the decision of the Working Group on Quality Assessment and Selection of Journals in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) dated June 30, 2025, based on an analysis of the formal and bibliographic indicators of our Journal, as well as on public and expert assessment, Iberoamerican Papers were included in the RSCI list.
RSCI is a prestigious database that comprises the best Russian scientific journals and is integrated into the international Web of Science platform.

Articles are accompanied by pictures, as this is the style of the Journal. It is desirable that authors send their photos and illustrations to the proposed publications. At the same time, the editorial board reserves the right to suggest its own decisions on the design of articles.
