El objetivo de este artículo es analizar los mecanismos lingüísticos de la retranca – el humor fino con doble intención que se considera típico de los gallegos en las parodias musicales del proyecto “Páramo Pictures”, cuyos vídeos en “YouTube” han llamado bastante atención en Galicia en el último lustro.
La técnica de investigación que se aplica es el análisis linguoestilístico, culturológico y semiótico del texto audiovisual.
Para sus parodias “Páramo Pictures” eligen los éxitos de la temporada del pop latino u otros géneros que tienen videoclips famosos: “Despacito” de Luis Fonsi, “Súbeme la radio” de Enrique Iglesias, “Wreking Ball” de Miley Syrus, etc. Graban nuevos vídeos intentando reproducir la manera de interpretación y los elementos del argumento originales, pero adaptando tanto la letra como el ambiente a la Galicia rural.
El éxito del proyecto puede explicarse por el uso acertado de todos los componentes del texto audiovisual, estereotipos sobre la Galicia rural, y al nivel lingüístico – del juego de palabras y la traducción homófona, todo lo cual acentúa la interacción eficaz de la analogía y el contraste, dos elementos esenciales del género de la parodia.
The purpose of this article is to analyze the linguistic means of expressing the retranca – the subtle humour which is considered to be typical of the Galicians – in the music parodies by the project “Páramo Pictures”, whose video clips have become rather famous in the region during the last five years.
The study method we apply is based on the linguo-stylistic, cultural and semiotic analysis of the audiovisual text.
The songs, which “Páramo Pictures” choose to parody, are usually recent hits that have well-known video clips: “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, “Súbeme la radio” by Enrique Iglesias, “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Syrus, etc. They film new videos trying to reproduce the elements of the original plot, but adapting both the lyrics and the scenery to rural Galicia.
The success of the project can be explained by the perfect use of all the elements of the audiovisual text, stereotypes about rural Galicia, and – in terms of linguistics – of the wordplay and the homophonic translation, all of which shows the effective interaction of the analogy and the contrast, two essential components of the genre of the parody.
