Гватемала - многоязычная, многокультурная страна, где, помимо испанского, используются индейские языки, поэтому билингвальное обучение имеет большое значение. В этой связи возникла необходимость в образовательной реформе с целью реализации качественного билингвально-го обучения, которое помогло бы индейскому населению раскрыть в полной мере свой потенциал, участвовать в общественной и политической жизни, сохранить свою культуру и достичь гармоничного межкультурного сосуще-ствования.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>In a knowledge-based society, education is seen as the main source of economic growth. Guatemala is a multilingual country where bilingual education plays an important role because indigenous languages as well as Spanish are in use.
